Talking Finally done Sirius/back up camera pic

First of all thank you INOV8 for all the help. Here are the install Pics for my 2006 avalon with Navagation. The first G-Net unit didn’t work right. But when they sent me a replacement it was different then the first one. And it worked. Their customer service wasn’t that good but in the end it worked. Here is the pic for the wire harness
Here is how it hooks up complements from INOV8
Nav-conn . G-NET . . Camera
==========================
Blue . . . . Red . . . . (none)
Black . . . Gray . . . . red (+)
White/blk . Black(2) . . Black (-)
Notes:
(+) positive power wire for the camera
(-) negative power wire for the camera
(2) connect G-NET Blue wire here as well

As you can see you tap all the wires from the G-net unit to the other wire harness from the Nav unit.

I bought the camera off eBay. I paid a little more and got the CCD INFRARED KEYHOLE WIDE ANGLE REAR VIEW BACKUP CAMERA i guess its better than the Cmos type. And used a 1-1/4 hole bit. You can see it on the drill. Tape off where your going to drill to protect the paint.

I used the hole that is already there for the camera cables but had to cut out a notch in the rubber gasket to make room for the wires.

The g-net box fit perfect in the slot on top of the Nav cage so i used a couple zip ties to hold it in place. I did have to notch out the back cover to the Nav unit to make room for the G-Net Wire harness.

The picture looks great!!!!

Sirius radio

Used the Toy-sc1 and SC-C1 from crutch field. They hooked right into the factory radio. removed the center console (links I used to remove radio/center cconsole) http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211293 http://www.caraudiomag.com/technical/caep_0711_tricks_of_the_trade/index.html and just right of the air duct there is a place to fit both of the box's. I zip tied them together to make it easy.

I ran the antenna cable behind the carpet and up the side by the door and placed the antenna on the dash.

It cost me about $450 for the camera stuff and Sirius cost $150. If i was to do it again I would try to get the camera box from someone else, not G-net. I did find the same thing out of George but cant find the link. G-Net does work but between getting the wrong thing and having to mail it back took about an extra 1-1/2 weeks. I hope this will help the next guy with the install. Its not that hard if you take your time. The second G-net took about 3 hours to include cutting the hole for the camera and the radio took about 2 hours. The next project is to move the 12v plug out of the center console and move it to the back for my sons portable DVD player

Nice Job, looks great!

I'm getting ready to hook my unit up as well. I picked up an infrared sensor that mixes with a CCD and displays overlay of sensor info on picture.

My question is, you mentioned all wiring tapped into DVD. Is there a wire in that unit that is only active during backup? I thought you might need to attach to reverse light to switch from NAV to camera.

Would you please let me know? Thanks.

If you look in the picture there is a red wire (camera+)and a gray wire (G-net wire needed to be hooked to the rev power) They are both spliced into the black wire on the Nav. I was told that is the one that is for the Rev. I guess it was the factory wire harness for rev if a camera system was installed at the factory for other cars that use the same system. If you dont want to use that, the rev. wire that goes to the light is on the left side in a bundle going up to the trunk lid. I think it was red then it goes to a connection and changes to red/white by the light thats if a rember right. But that black one is connected to the same thing and just runs into the nav system.

Nice install, I'm considering doing the camera install.

"The next project is to move the 12v plug out of the center console and move it to the back for my sons portable DVD player"

Saturday I had the console apart to install a 12v plug and couldn't find room. On the back side of the console is the rear air vent. The supply to the vent is as wide as the vent outlets. Then on the bottom corners are 2 metal brackets that the console screws into. As you go up from the floor then the interior console box comes into play. So good luck if this is where you were planing to do the install. I couldn't find room.

This is an 08 LTD Avalon.
