2007 needs new tires

My 2007 XLS has 25,500 miles and it needs new tires. I've had the car for 16 months and I'm not very happy about having to buy new tires already. Has anyone else had problems with tire wear? If you have replaced your factory tires what brand tires did you choose and did you keep the smooth ride with them.

I know this is late in the game, but evidently Toyota buys OEM tires with a very soft compound for "ride characteristics", but I suspect cost effectiveness. Almost all new Toyotas will only get you about 25K to 35K miles on them and 35K is stretching it.
I know of people first hand that have had tread separation at 25K miles. No certain model either. I have seen Yaris, Tacoma, Camry, Highlander. The tire manufacturers will tell you that there is no warranty on this and to contact Toyota. They say " ...these are the tires that Toyota wants on their vehicles and they aren't designed to last very long".
Anyway, something needs to be addressed because it's very frustrating to have your tire wear out in less than 2 years on a new vehicle.
I had Dunlops on my '06 Tacoma DCab. At 35K miles I was pushing the limits of safety, but I was trying to get more than 30K miles from new tires. It's crazy.
We pay more for Toyota quality. I wouldn't mind paying for a good set of tires with my new Toyota. I feel ripped off when I think about it.

I have yet to buy a new car from any manufacturer who doesn't mount tires on their cars that wear poorly. 20,000 to 25,000 has always been the replacement range for every new car I've owned. Once I replace them, I typically get 50,000 miles out of a set. I replaced my Avalon's original tires with Goodyear Assurance...got 25,000 on them already and expect 50,000+. Quiet ride too. Good luck....

Hi Guys! (Newbie here)

I'm buying an avalon and would like to get some good tyres. A quiet soft ride is my number 1 priority.

Do you guys know any good ones?

Just put a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4s on mine. Nice ride and as quiet as any I've had.

I don't know why you guys are having such low mileage. I got 59k out of the OEM tires on my 05 LTD. I replaced them with the same model tire bought from Costco.

I replaced my Michelin Energy factory tires @ 40000 miles. After a lot of research I bought the Michelin Primacy MXV4 tire. It is the Michelin upgrade to the Energy tire. It has a 60K mile pro rated warranty. The Energy has none. The Primacy is quiet smooth riding tire with a warranty. Paid $600 out the door with the tire dealer road hazard warranty as well.

What kind of driving are you doing. For my Avalon, mileage is about 70% city and 30% highway, so 50,000+ miles from a set is pretty good. Front wheel drive in the city chews up tires in a big hurry. BTW, you lucky ***tard, making your escape from Californication. I've thought about settling in or near Harpers Ferry, but the winters are just too cold. Glad you're happy there, though.

To Avalon_09 Oct, like I mentioned I have Goodyear Assurance on my Avalon, and they're very quiet are are wearing well...recommended.
