chg maint req light to 4500 from 3000 miles

I use synthetic oil in the wifes avalon, not fossil juice. Am a firm beliver in it so no need to discuss. her 2006 avalon ... great machine... has a light that comes on .. maint req light .. to tell her it is time for oil change. Well it comes on at 3000 miles. With synthetic I do not change until 5000 and then rotate tires also. Does anyone know how to change the light value from 3000 to 4500 ... leaves 500 miles to get it done ...

thanks ... Dave

Thanks for that info ... is interesting though. We got it used and the oil was changed at the dealer. I thought it has only been 3000 miles since then. I need to check the papers from the sale to be sure.

I do my own oil change – dino stuff – every 6 month, which corresponds to about 4k miles interval. To avoid the “maint. req.” light overlapping with my specific oil-change needs, I reset the counter at that time as well, regardless if the light is on or not.
