On a 09 avalon ltd there is a snap in holder in the lower center compartment looks like a cell phone holder but to short. can any one tell me what it is good for ? thank you

It's good for taking out and putting it aside until we can collectively figure out its use.

All joking aside - you're not the first to ask the question. So far (two years for me) I haven't heard a good answer yet.

Mine resides in the trunk as I can't figure out what it's use. Better they should have put the electrical outlets in reasonable places and provided an Ipod connector. Other than those complaints, I really like this car.

My fix was to enclose it and make a coin holder. Works for me

It is a Cell Phone holder. I have 2 phones (office and Private) and they both fit in well.

It works very well actually.
But you cannot close the compartement when the phones are in.
