NAv and Radio

I have a 2008 Limited. Is there a setting that allows the radio to mute when the nav system is going to say something. Trying to avoid both the radio and nav going at the same time.

I was about to ask the same question. I also have an '08 LTD and the audio does not mute when nav announcements happen. I also own a '04 4Runner with Nav and it mutes the audio.

Anybody have an insight?

I haven't found a setting that will mute the radio. On mine (a 2007) when there's a NAV announcement it mutes the left front speakers and plays the announcement through there. I just adjust the volume of the NAV a bit higher than the radio.

I assume the 2008 system works the same?

Could be. I just know that the other day we were enjoying some tunes on the CD player and the Nav announcement was lost in the overture. The 4Runner mutes the whole system in favor of the Nav announcement which is a lot nicer implementation IMHO. Just wishing/hoping the Avy has similar capabilities.

It doesnt take much to get a nicer nav implementation when you're referring to an Avalon.
