Unhappy Smart Key Remote Fob, Went though the Washing Machine

So I left the spare Smart Key Fob in my new Columbia jacket and and threw it in the washing machine. We have a Frigidaire front loader and it went through on the heavy cycle with extra rinse/high spin settings. (warm water)

After looking all over the house and giving my wife a hard time for moving my stuff, I realized the key fob was left in my jacket pocket! I really had to stick my foot in my mouth! So, the wash cycle just finished and I reached in the pocket and pulled out the fob (meanwhile my wife was really saying how stupid I was and how expensive the remote was, I deserved it). I immediately disassembled the fob, laid out the parts and dried them with a hair-dryer. I let them sit for about an hour for good measure. After assembly, It WORKED! It has since had no ill effects of being fully submersed and agitated for 45 minutes. I AM IMPRESSED!

Probably help that you had dried it out first before using it.

Next time something like that happens and excellent method (and very benign) for getting the moisture out of an electronic device is to place it in a ziploc plastic bag filled with rice. The rice will soak up every drop of moisture overnight with usually good results.
