P2195 Error - help

I own a 06 limited and my Check engine along with VSC lights came on. Autozone read the code and it is a P2195 error. According to AZ the O2 sensor cost $500, according to websites the fix is O2 sensor and manifold ~$1800. I don't have that much money. The dealer told me that it was ok to drive with warning lights on. I checked the MAF sensor and it is clean. The O2 sensor or A/F sensor Stuck Lean - bank 1 sensor 1. If I want to do the work myself can someone help me with diagrams, picts, instructions etc......your help is greatly appreciated.

Try mail order sites such as the one below.

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,5132

If wanting discount Toyota parts try www.1sttoyotaparts.com or Dallas of Toyota.

Autozone may have info reparing this engine, if Avalon is not listed use the Camry with V6 engine.

Do a TN search, this engine is used in the Camry with V6 option that also is effected.

Pick up a Haynes manual on this car or Camry.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the back bank Air/Fuel Sensor. It is located just above the transmission bell housing on the rear exhaust manifold.

You can test the Sensor's resistance, with an ohmmeter. The 2pins (of the 4pin connector) should read 1.8ohm - 3.4ohm. test using the 2pins along the side with 3 ridges on the connector. Toyota suggests to replace both the manifold and a/f sensor. You will also have to have the DTC cleared.

toyotaparts.com has the a/f sensors for about $160. And the exhaust manifold is about $510

Toyomoho - thanks for the links. I checked both Haynes and Chiltons and both do not have the 06 repair manaual for either Avalon or Camry.

sr20det - thank you for the sensor location and parts information. Do you know how hard is it to get to the A/F sensor and rear exhaust manifold? I do not have a lift - can I reach them if I have the car on jack stands and a use a creeper?

avalondude, if you ever find an answer to P2195 please pass it on. My 06 Camry with a 4 banger hit the code at 30K. The dealer simply reset it. Now, out of warranty, it came on again. I reset it with a reader I purchased from NAPA but two days later it came on again. Unfortunately, in NJ when it gets inspected they will fail the car if the Check Engine Light is on. I could just see myself resetting it in front of the inspection lanes and ditching the reader in the trunk. If you find anything out about this, pass it along. Thanks.
