On The Fence- Need Opinions

Putting some addons on my Avy- just bought a rear deck lid painted lip spoiler , painted door edge guards, and painted mudflaps. I'm on the fence about the body side moldings- what's everyone think- yes, or no? I don't know if I'm completely sold on them or not. I guess I'm too used to seeing third gens without them. Whadda all think? My avy has a few small dings in the driver front door and I wonder if the moldings would of prevented it. Thanks, Joe

Joe,
I have the plastic side molding strips and actually positioned them strtegically to cover some pre-existing door dings. I like the way they break up the expansive slab sides of the Avalon, which is srictly a personal cosmetic consideration.

That said, i don't think any moldings add much practical ding prevention unless they are so big as to cover most of the door. The offending doors of other vehicles come in all shapes and sizes, so the point of impact will rarely, if ever, align perfectly with the strips.
