05 Avalon Electrical bugs

For the first time in 37000 worry free miles, some crazy things are happening electrically. I changed the battery since I noticed a few cells were weak. i wanted to catch it early before getting stuck. However, it seems ever since, some strange things are occuring. for example:

When I fill up the tank, the fuel guage takes a few minutes to read full. When I fill up, the "Trip Indicator" on the display doesn't reset back to zero to show the ave mileage, etc. The clock loses the set time every time I turn off the ignition. It goes back to 1:00 and after a few minutes, it will read the correct minutes but the hours are wrong. I can't get the "Homelink" to set up. When the headlights are on, there is no indication on the instrument panel. The same for high beams.

Was there any trick that I missed when installing the new batterry? If so, how can I correct it?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

When you replaced the battery did you accidentally touch or initially hook-up the cables to the wrong polarity? Even a momentary contact might have fried one or more of your Avalon's computers.

Try replacing the 7.5Amp fuse labaled "Dome" (#19). It protects most of the circuits that are not working.

I changed the fuse and it appears to be ok. Thanks a million inov8 for your answer. I really appreciate it. So does my bank account. Who knows what the dealer would charge.

Thanks again. You guys are great!
