Hard spot in Limited seats

Just purchased 09 Avalon Limited with the heated/cooled seats, and at 500mi am already noticing a hard place in the seat that seems to be part of the cooling duct under the padding.Has anyone else experienced this?If so,is there a remedy?

Would seem so,but thanks for your contribution.I may have found the oroblem. To get my oversized(6'4") frame comfortable, the fan that ventilates the seat bottom is on the floor, and when my butt compresses the cushion, there's no where for the fan to go.Lexus uses the same seat, but with more padding. This may be my answer. Thanks again.

I' ve seen either some posts or a car rag complain about the seat cushions on the limited for the same reason you are not happy. It was one of the reason's I got the cheaper version....I could live with a few less features....save the $$$$...and didn't have to worry about the seat comfort which may or may not have been a problem.

since my first post;I too have read complaints from limited owners, but so far,no solution.too nice a car to get really upset over this one thing,so I guess the seat ventilation fan will have to go in the trunk,as I have determined that it is the problem,as it only lets the seat cushion depress so far, then you are resting your butt on a 4 inch fan motor, cushioned by 1/2 inch of foam.lexus uses the same seat, but with more padding.thanks for the input.any solutions out there?

Can you raise the seat 1/2" to 1" so that you are not sitting on the fan?

nope;fan is actually mounted to inside of seat frame by 2 horizontal spring wires that reach from side to side, and as the seat is raised and lowered,so is the fan.only solution i see is to use thicker seat padding as lexus does,or remove fan that really only ventilates rather than cooling.

I for one would miss having the vent seat. Eliminates the butt sweat factor!

last 5 new cars purchased were MBs without ventilated seats.butt comfort has never been a factor with the perforated seat cover and a goo a/c,which the avalon has.like i said;avalon is too nice a car to get really upset over this little quirk, but i'd really like to fix it;dealer no help.IQ of a brick!

mother nature gave me enough floppy, slide around cushion.I'd really rather fix the seat, instead of worrying with a loose cushion every time I get in and out.

Hard Seat

I just recently purchased a 2008 Avalon Limited and had the same problem but I got a Gel Seat Cushion from Canadian Tire (I'm in Canada) and it sticks to the seat well, doesn't move much and makes things real comfortable. Have a look at:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...%2BCushion.jsp

I highly recommend it. Just took a long trip (6 1/2 hour drive) and had to stop and get my wife one for her side too. Hope this helps.
