Options for Factory Stereo Replacement

I just bought an 05' Avalon XLS w/ JBL stero, but without navigation and am looking to both install some subs and a new head unit as my cd player randomly skips with burnt cds and I have no way to play my iPod. I have done a little research but have not found any promising leads on options I may have. Every deck I look at says that I have to modify my vehicle. Does anyone have any ideas?

You do have some options depending on what you want to do. Most of the modifications involve a harness which allows you to interface with the preexisting electronics.

I put in a Pioneer Double DIN unit which required more work, but it plays everything and has nav and bluetooth as well. I can't post pics here but shoot me a private email and I will send them to you.

BTW. I also saved all the old parts so the car can be restored to original if I decide to sell it.

Regards,

M

Do the steering wheel radio controls work with the new pioneer radio?
