2007 Toyota Avalon driver-side rear tail-light assembly

I am having a problem removing the driver-side rear tail-light assembly for replacement. I have removed the three nuts on the protruding stems, pushed through the plastic rivet on the side, disconnected the wire and removed the two screws to the attached bracket from underneath the car. There does not seem to be any other connectors when I examine the replacement part. Yet, I can not seem to get the assembly to pop out, and I did not want to use excessive force.

Is there a special way to remove the tail light assembly?

Thanks

I posted the factory service manual instructions for removal here; perhaps it will help:

(copy and paste the entire line into your browser)

This is for the 2005 model year, but 2007 should be similar.

Thank you inov8 for your response and including the factory instructions. Could you please send the instructions for Hint items 1 & 2 that are referenced on page 76-6.

I appreciate your help.

There are rows of blind retainers along the seams between bumper cover and right & left quarter panels. They are not intended for re-use. Many will break as the bumper cover is pulled away. I recommend buying new ones before removing the cover.
