Rear Seat Removal Procedure

This is for an '05 Avalon Touring.

My wife dropped something in the space behind the center armrest. All searches point to a PDF document on avalonfaq.com, a domain that no longer exits except for a generic landing page featuring a picture of a pretty college-aged girl.

Any pointers to the actual document would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't help you with the procedure but I can tell you that AvalonFAQ was shut down due to lack of traffic. We shut it down almost 2-years ago.

You need only to unclip and slide forward the lower cushion, which I have done several times.

-1- Slide the front seats fully forward to gain more working space in the rear.

-2- Kneel in the rear driver or passenger floor area, facing the rear, and slide both hands under the cushion, about midway bewteen the center and outer edge of the cushion.

-3- Pull up hard, until the hidden retainer unclips. Repeat on the other side.

-4- Slide the cushion forward to access the space behind/under the armrest.

Remember to position the seatbelt buckles back into place as you slide the rear cushion back.
