Problem after disconnecting the battery

Hi guys,
This weekend I finally installed the PA15-TOY in my 2005 Avalon Limited. During the installation I disconnected the battery . Not only I got the belt chime back after reconnecting it (fixed again ), but now the left window would not work properly. The little light is blinking in the switch and the “Auto” function doesn’t work up or down. I have to hold the switch to close or open the window. The right side works fine.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? I don’t really want to go to the dealer for that. Thanks in advance,
Mike

Avalon window solution

The power window master switch and power window switch memorize the initial position of each door window.
This data will be lost if a battery terminal, fuse, or switch connector is disconnected, allowing only a manual operation. Therefore, after reconnecting it initialize the system by performing the steps described below.
1) Push down the power window switch and lower the window halfway.
2) Pull up the switch until the window closes and hold the switch for at least one second.
3) Make sure that the window opens and closes automatically.

Hope this helps.

Eventually, you may discover the sunroof to have been similarly affected by disconnecting the battery. Here is the relevant section from the 05 Avalon tech manual:

The Sliding Roof ECU memorizes the initial position of the sliding roof. This position may disappear from
memory or a wrong position might be stored in memory due to some causes such as the disconnection
of a battery terminal. When this occurs, the sliding roof will not operate correctly. In this case, the sliding roof position must be initialized as described below.
(1) Turn ignition to ON (without smart key system) or switch the power source mode to IG-ON (with
smart key system).
(2) Reset the zero point of the sliding roof by pushing and holding the “Tilt/Up” switch until the sliding
roof tilts all the way up and shutters sliding slightly automatically.
(3) Release the switch.

Bob, thank you for the post. I just checked the sliding roof and it worked fine. It's just the left window that lost its memory or at least what I saw right after the install. Of course I had to readjust the clock and "move back" to the West Coast on my Navi. Everything else seems to be OK. Thanks again for sending me that file.
