2005 avalon serpentine accessory belt replacement squeal squeak not tensioner
I have had a small squeak from the accessory belt area for a couple of days. I assumed it was probably the belt. I have had numerous oil leaks fixed on the car and they never replaced the belt. I sprayed some water on the belt and the noise stopped which made me believe it was the belt. I removed the belt with a 14mm open end wrench and another taped to the end for leverage and length. Autozone and advance auto didn't have a replacement in stock and they were $55 and $57 plus tax. O'reilly autoparts had one in stock for $24. It was a Gates micro-v AT, K070822, 7PK2088, 770075334781, 15523312, 7 rib, 15/16 x 82 3/4", 24mm x 2102mm. It fit well and no more squeaking sound.

It started squeaking again. I wonder if it is the bearing on the tensioner or ps or maybe alternator. The sound doesn't change with the ac and it is louder when the rpms climb over 1K.

I'm getting a squeal / dry bearing noise on cold start, it's gone once engine warms up.
Has the OP determined where problem is, or anyone else with similar?
Just wondering if there is any pattern with this motor so I can shorten diagnosis
TIA

I lived with the squeal and dry bearing noise until it got to the point where it was squealing and making a noise all of the time. I removed the belt and all of the pullies. I cleaned all of the pulleys and sanded them slightly. I reinstalled them and put on a new belt. That was a few months ago and I don't have any noise.

In addition to this, keep a watchful eye on your alternator. Nippondenso installled a clutch/bearing pulley (although it's made for Toyota) I just had my "redesigned" pulley installed from a single ball to a double ball bearing design. Nippondenso apparently discovered the single ball bearing was having a high rate failure. I also replaced the belt and checked all pulleys for cuts/cracks. Difficult task since it such a tight area.

Notice the date on my post? Cold weather.
Last January, I drove down to Florida, haven't heard a squeek or squawk since then;
*however* if one pops up when it gets cold again, I'll post again

I had the same problem. My 05 Avalon came with Dayco belt made for Toyota..I had an issue with the idler pulley and instead of purchasing a pulley from GATES, I bought KOYO bearings from a local bearing dealer..there are TWO bearings in that idler. I removed them with a vise/press and reinstall them that way. They are sealed bearings and IF you find a bearing dealer, take your pulley. The GATES replacement used some Chinese made bearing. I also went to a BANDO (OE supplier to many auto manufacturers). PIT....butt? Yes, but this is a tight area to work in and I just wanted piece of mind from what the dealer offered. Also check the bearing on your tensioner...
