Toyota body fasteners

In order to replace the headlight bulbs in my 2006 XLS I must remove the plastic cover at the front of the engine compartment to gain access. There are six (6) plastic rivets holding it to the frame. 1.How are these removed, 2.can they be reused, 3. is there a replacement plastic rivet available to use, and lastly does anyone have the Toyota part number for these rivets or know where I can get it. The rivets have a pin thru the center which can be moved. I pressed one down and it disappeared into the car.

**After some research I found that the part is the "cool air intake duct seal". I need the plastic clips that hold the seal to the body.**

you have to pull up on the center pin, then pull the whole rivet out. they suck, they break and I only have half of mine holding my cover down.

On my car the center post is just below, or even with the surface of the rivet head. I cannot pull it out from the top. My only alternative, I suppose, is to push it through, break the bottom out, and replace it. Thanks for the help.

For replacements, see:

Copy the entire URL and paste it into your browser without any line breaks.
CORRECTION: just clicking on the above link seems to work OK.

I think the part # 19552 on this page will work. You could also substitute ordinary 1/4" "Christmas Tree" plastic retainers, available at Autozone and similar stores.
