windshield washer big leak

I opened the washer res to add fluid and I noticed that the fluid ran directly out of the bottom onto the garage floor. I had used the washer earlier in the day and seemed to have no problems, The car is still under warranty but hate to give it up to the service manager. Did I do something wrong?

The hose probably popped off the bottom. I think there was a bulletin about that a while back, since they didnt clamp them at first. Probably your first thing to look for.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look at it tonight once I get it into the garage.

Bingo! There is a TSB out about that (at least one that covers my 07). The hose slips off - apparently the original hose isn't clamped and is a bit on the short side.

Mine was covered under the extended warranty. For the record, the local dealer would have charged me $125 to fix it.

I tried to get to the res from above but my fat fingers could not get passed all the parts. I guess it must be available from the bottom. Is that the way to get to it? If that is the only way I guess I will turn it over to the service manager on Monday

To end this. I took it to the Service Manager and they put a new hose. It seems to work again. Still under warranty. Thank you everyone for the advice and help

I had to loosen the front of the fender liner in my 96 Camry (very simular car) to get to the bottom of the reservoir, when the same thing happened to me.
I paid 70 cents at NAPA for 6" of chemical resistant tubing, and needed only about 3" of it. Then I used zip ties at connections and haven't had a problem since.

Just for future reference!

My dealer sold me a fix kit for this problem for about $30, but didn't charge me any labor to fix it.

Winsdshield Washer Fluid Leaks Out

My dealer fixed this for me at no charge, tho my 06 Avalon is beyond warranty period, about 43K miles. Apparently there is a tech bulletin out on this. Hose is too short. Good luck, all....ovl
