Bought it!!! 05 Avalon XLS

Hey forum family,
thank you for all of your info pertaining to post ???05 Avalon Questions???
It was helpful to be cautious and have some educated questions prepared to ask the dealership.
I bought a higher mileage vehicle than I am used to purchasing, but hell 70k on a Toyota isn't bad
especially for getting $2,000 under retail from a Toyota Dealership.
I spoke w/ the Service Manager and he printed out all of the recall/service and proved to me beyond a reasonable doubt that this car had
been taken care of.
The VVTI oil line was replaced
early on in this avalons life before the plastic tube had an opportunity to leak.
I really do not care for the cheap new tires they mounted they'll be up for sale soon I am a GoodYear man. No other complaints from me, however the person I bought it for my "wife commented is it too nice for us???". Ha, what a question... She had been driving a 04 Camry SE 3.3VVTI for 4yrs. It loaded w/ leather and all power options she said the same thing back then. We are still young she is 29 and myself 32. So, when compared to our peers yeah maybe a little flashy, but I like luxury and performance.
I have owned several Toyota's over my years of driving passed down from my father 88 Supra (still have it! , 90 4 Runner, and a 88 extra cab 2 wheel drive truck that the bed rusted completely off of. These cars are awesome and the current press is going to have a lot of ass kissing when toyota prevails from the recall madness. I truly believe Toyota is going to come at these other Auto makers locked and loaded holding nothing back in the near future possibly beggining w/ 2011 Avalon.

I will try my best to keep better in touch w/ you folks now with our pearly white addition. By the way this car was a total freaking joy to drive from Huntington Wv to our Farm in Gallia Co. Ohio little over 1hr and the mileage Gage indicated 26 mpg's and I was running 60mph most of the way exept for the couple cars I smoked passing on the 2 lane. Totally cool looking back in rear view at the cold weathers effect on the dual exhaust rolling up as I mashed it.

Goodyear tires! Well I put a set of assurance triple tred on our camry
and a set of assurance comfort tred on my Moms camry. Driven both and see a diffence of course our SE is a 16" and her LE is 15" the comforts really did absord the
bumps in the road much better. Plus
the comforts have a amazing 80k mile warrantee! The triple teed certainly look sportier and handle remarkably in fowl weather and dry road cornering not a squeek around a sharp turn; I can feel them holding on. Now for my favorite I'd have to say the
Wrangler Silent Armor I've had 2 sets and got 63k out of the first ones and the second ones 40k before I wrecked and still had another 20k tred
left. Amazing SUV tire. I've also bought a set of gator back eagles years ago for our Supra they are pure performance and have no life whatsoever.
I'd really like to give Goodyears new FuelMax tire an honest effort if I but new ones for the Avalon, but will likely roll out with the Comfort Treds.
One thing I really enjoy about GoodYear is their Credit Card Program from GoodYear tire shops 90 days same as cash and they always double the rebate if your purchasing when rebates are offered when using the credit card. Just don't wait for the 91st day to pa the bill because the interest will bitch slap you. Haha.
I am not affiliated with Goodyear by anyway, just enjoy knowing I have the wings of good year between me and the road while traveling gives me confidence.
I've owned BFG's not a big fan anymore plus no rebates and credit card options for paying over 3 months.

On another note, drove the Avalon into town today with my 2 yr old in the car seat to te barber shop. Almost didn't seem real!!! Car is amazing! We all went to dinner in town last night Wife finally drove it and said I cant see the cars in me mirror as the come up;
auto dimming mirror honey : ) it's so they don't blind you.

A funny story about yesterday morning she was leaving for work and jumped in te Camry I asked her why she wasn't driving her Avalon? She said I'm not ready it is too nice and it scares me. So, she preceeds to back up and gets the Camry
stuck in the snow off the side of our driveway. Haha she was forced
into the Avalon and loved it. She called me when she got to
work and said wow it's soo smooth .
I truly think we will have a lot of enjoyment from this car

Fuelmax Goodyear is what I have decided on I believe, unless someone tells me not to and why. I like the triple treads better, but they are aobut $200 a set more.

If your looking for a tire to perform
in the rain, snow, and dry go Triple Tred the
extra $$$ are well spent. I have ne fear whatsoever to drive in downpouring rain w/ the triple tred.
I have never felt loose in rain hydoplaining just hasn't even been a concern
within reason of course.
My Dad was totally impressed with the
performance of the Assurance Comfort Treds on Moms Camry in the snow.
I am a little concerned about the fuelMax tire in regards to longevity. I just don't think you'll get the mileage out of them. Yeah they may save you some gas mileage, but hey it's a
trade buy another set of tires because they didn't
last as long and save at the pump or save
on a set of tires that last a long time.
Best of both worlds is the Comfort Tred. I don't think they were as expensive as the Triple Tred
either.
What are you wanting to buy tires for?
