Question Vsc/trac/abs

I have an 08 Toyota Avalon xl, just wondering if this model comes equipped with VSC and TRC. Because I don't see any logo of them when I turn my engine on except the ABS logo.
Although at Toyota website "http://www.toyota.com/avalon/features.html" under safety view, its saying like all the Avalon models (xl, xls and limited) comes with 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC) and Brake Assist
If my model doesn't come with VSC and TRAC, am I able to install them at any Toyota dealership.

Regards,

I have an '08 Limited and I believe the only thing standard for that year was the ABS. The VSC and TRAC are options, however, I think the VSC is now standard on the 2010 and possibly the 2009. I've read on these forums that there is a problem with the VSC in snow and some people have been trying to figure out how the deactivate it. Also, it would be very expensive, if not impossible, to install VSC and TRAC after the fact. Do you have the window Sticker. It will list what was installed.

Your link goes to the 2010 Avalon features which don't apply to your 2008.

In 2008, TRAC + VSC was optional on all trims. In 2009, it became standard equipment. If you don't have it on your Avalon, I don't think any Toyota dealership would install it - it's time and cost prohibitive.

Abs/trac Bad

Your info shows Ohio - I'm N. Indiana with a used '06 xls, and the VSC/TRAC is what I dislike most about the Av. Can't spin the tires when you need to on snow & loose surfaces, and the d**n thing CUTS power to the front wheels if you're slipping while pulling out from a curb cut.

Until I got used to the looooooooooong time delay, I had several hair-raising moments trying to pull into a lane from a slippery shoulder/etc. You've got a plenty big opening, start moving, get the nose out into traffic, and the powere drops. Suddenly that traffic that was safely down the road is right on top of you, and wheels aren't moving at all. Turning VSC/TRAC is a complicated only-at-startup routine.

My humble opinion - better off without them - they increase risk.

Love it otherwise, though. Except when the oil line puked its guts on my clean garage floor...
