Toyota Trade In Values ????

Has anyone traded or attempted to trade their 2006 Avalon or any third gen. for another vehicle other than a Toyota? Did the other dealers act like they even wanted to deal with you or offered you little or nothing for your Avalon?

My wife is not trusting her 2006 Avalon Limited right now even with the so called gas pedal fix. We believe the problem is still there. If she doesen't feel safe driving her car then it is time for it to go. We haven't tried to trade yet, just looking around. The KBB trade-in is 16,000 to 18,000 and we were wondering if anyone has tried to trade and how were they treated by other dealers. The Avalon has depreciated enough without the accelleration mystery making it worse.

We have enjoyed both our Toyotas and would not be wanting to trade but the more news that comes out the more it looks like Toyota knew about this long before and didn't want to do much about it. I think loyality is a great thing to have but mine is more directed toward my wife than the car.

KBB has said they've reduced values by like 1-3%, and up to 5% on some models. Not really a big deal. I'm sure any dealer would try and screw you regardless on trade. I wouldnt be trading now, wait till the media fear mongering dies down. In 6 months it will be forgotten.

I'm considering to get Sequoia may be in a year or so... depends what they will come up with with re-design.

My 08 Avalon's gas pedal was fixed last weekend and I was offered 26K for trade in.

After driving Avalon back home I made a decision that I will NOT trade Avy and better put 30K downpayment for Seqouia. Avalon is too comfortable and too good to ged rid of.

cheers
