Canada questions on changing the brake fluid in 2006 avalon xls

hi, 3 questions

1. whats the bleed order?

2. what fluid? valvoline super synth or ate blue?

3. should i buy one of those brake bleeder hoses that prevent air from being taken in or on of those pressurized canisters for help push the fluid through the system? or do it the old fashioned way?

thanks

I have the Motive and it works pretty well...although I have not used it on the Avalon yet. I think I have the older one that takes different caps to adapt to the vehicle, not a universal cap like your link. I would say if you are only bleeding 1 or 2 cars a year then save your money...if you do a lot more then definitely worth it.

Remove then refresh the master cylinder fluid, then RR, LR, RF,LF. ATE is the best brake fluid on the planet, but I'd use the generic DOT 3 recommended by the Avalon manual and change it every other year.

thanks guys.

I am going to use the valvoline super synth (friend brought some from the US) as its dot 3 and dot 4 (ATE is just dot 4...)

I may try and build a bleeder, but it seems easier to just buy one. thanks again

also has anyone put steel brake lines on their avalon? will the stock ones from say a highlander (toyota uses Teflon, steel breaded lines on all their SUVs) work on my 06?

+1 for motive. it is a little tough to get a good sela using the universal. I have only used it on my 4runner so i do not know if there is enough space to use it on the avy
