2010 Limited Text Button

I have the basic JBL radio which has a TEXT button. It is my understanding that this radio has the capability to display RDS information associated with FM stations.

I took the car in for service and asked about our TEXT button and if it was working. The response was that you "have to program station on radio to use feature". The service rep was then asked how do I program station on radio? he didn't know and suggested that I come back during Lance's working hours which were M-Th (this was Fri.).

I know that there are several radio stations in the area that broadcast RDS info (because my sister-in-law's Nissan's radio has it on their display). Does anybody know how to get RDS info from FM stations on this radio?

Thanks
George

I don't have the basic JBL radio so I can't say for certain - but on the upgraded JBL stereo there's a setup menu where you can set RDS on or off. Maybe that's what you need to do? I dunno - just suggesting...

If my radio has a setup menu, I can't find it. All I can find is the ability to alter the Bass, Treble, Bal, etc. and RDS is not one of the options.

Thanks for the suggestion

Where is said menu, I have jbl/nav, my menu consists of bass/mid/trouble/fade/balance/surround. RDS is on by default on mine and I see no way to kill it. Not that I'd want to, but I'm curious if theres another menu I've missed.

I owe you guys an apology. I got confused. The Mustang and the Ford trucks I've driven lately had a setting to turn RDS on and off - not the Toyota.

They say the mind is the second things that goes on ya - can't remember the first one...
