I was thinking about replacing the other two coils on that side as well because access cost $400 in labor.

You can buy them for $65 each at Toyota-Parts dot com, a dealer in Texas that sells factory parts at a discount.

It is the labor to get to the rear ones makes it a dealer job for me and the dealer will not install my parts (at least with their warrenty)

Seems like you could save ~$500 by purchasing 3 coils (one is a spare for the front cylinder bank) and bringing 2 of them to a local mechanic.

well what i did was order three from rock auto for under 150. since it is a right bank I can easily change those. For the left bank two I think I might take it to a local mechanic. Although they have yet to fail it is NOT worth driving your car with misfires. the unburnt fuel will damage the cats and we all know the probelms the cats have.

Right now the avalon is working great witha coil I borrowed from my camry...

two more cylinder coils just went out at 107k. Prob leaking oil, but coils are much cheaper than pulling the top off.
