One more new owner wants to thank those that contribute to this informative forum. After a long, but enjoyable search, I recently picked up a 2008 Limited with 2933 miles on it. Originally purchased in Sept, 2007, I have to assume the Toyota publicity scared the original purchaser into trading. First order of business was to have the clear shield installed on the hood, lights, bumper and mirrors to protect the cassis red color. Then had the three recalls performed. Car drives better than the 2002 Lexus ES previously owned, gets better mileage, and has more power. Seats aren't quite as comfortable and don't have as much padding as the Lexus however. Hope the Avalon is as trouble free.
Welcome. I recently purchased an 06 XLS a few weeks ago and is very excited even though the wife drives it. I had tint done yesterday and installed some HID's in the low beams. I am waiting on the fog HIDS to come in as i have pre-drilled for those to be installed when I took the bumper off. Hope you have fun with yours.

Thanks! You too! Question...did you have to buy a new headlight housing to fit the HIDs or is it just a plug and play type switch? I'd like to get the HIDs in there. Which fog HIDs did you get?

Bill, according to 3M, the "Scotchgard Paint Protection Film maintains the beauty and integrity of automotive finishes on vulnerable exterior painted surfaces such as leading hood edges, fender end caps and rocker panels. This rugged urethane film helps protect against stone chips, bug damage, abrasion and weathering. Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is transparent and nearly invisible, and it does not alter vehicle appearance." I had it on the Lexus previously and was pleased with the protection against rock chips. Sand is still used on our highways in the winter and it's hard to protect the sloping hoods today.
Hghflyr, the previous owner lived 400 miles from the selling dealer so about 800 miles of that was traveling home from purchase and back to trade it. We think it was driven to church every Sunday and when the Toyota recall news hit the presses, they got scared and traded it in on a Caddy. Just guessing but was told it was traded in on a Caddy.
