Crazy keys locked in trunk experience - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I have a 2005 Avalon Touring. I locked my keys in my trunk the other day. AAA came out and couldn't open the doors. He started at the door lock itself. Once he would pop it it would start locking and unlocking (although the doors stayed locked). Then he tried the door handle and it wouldn't open. A locksmith said that he wouldn't be able to pick the lock. Has anyone had this experience? I was told its a Avalon specific problem.

I assume by keys you mean you locked both keys in the trunk. A Toyota dealer should be able to make a new key by using the VIN.
