I have a trouble code p0354. They say it is a coil D. Does anyone know the loactions of the coils? For example: z is the coil on the driver side front, x is the coil on the passenger side firewall, etc. Thanks.

I get p0300, p0354, and p0301-p0306 telling me every coil has failed on my 05 Avalon.
So following along here, a p0354 code means coil 4 failed. I have this code now. Six months ago I had p0352 and the dealer replaced coil 2.
Basically, the last digit in the P035x series determines which coil to replace, correct? If so, this is VERY useful info!
Thank God for this posting and sorry to hear about your problem. My engine light is intermitatnly on/off. Pulled up codes with a simple code reader, got the 0354, put said primary and secondary ignition? I'm in no mood to deal with Toyota right now. I'm in the process of having a email war over the failed VVTi oil tube. Thanks for the posting!

I got a PO351 so that means it's the coil next to the firewall. I'll have to remove the intake to access that one. I'm going with original Toyota coil. I don't want to mess with aftermarket coils. Too much Chinese made crap out there or a coil made in Japan or Germany. Any suggestions on coils?
I bought a BWD E987 from O'Reilly for $85. Comes with a lifetime warranty. Given how they fail that's likely a good thing. Part showed up and it has Toyota stamped right on it. It is EXACTLY the same OEM part that I took off the car.

Thanks for the information. I went online and found several manufacturers, Denso,Airtex and Standard Electric. BWD is a division of Borg Warner, lifetime warranty? So how long have you had it in your engine. Did you end up having to remove the intake also?
I got a code in the #1 coil, but because of the labor involved in accessing these coils, I've chose to replace the other two #3 and #5. In addition, I noticed DE Diamond under the Toyota label. Seems like it's a Japanese founded company but they also make coils in China and India.
This is a PITA, labor intensive job. So I recommend if anyone is going to go through the trouble of removing the intake plenum and removing the sheet metal housing where the wiper motor (I loosened it to remove the plenum), just change out the other coils. Just a thought....thanks for the information, it was very helpful!
