Tint Question

Thinking about getting moderate tint on my rear passenger windows and rear windshield. I want to shield the baby/rear passengers from some of the sun that comes into the car. Whats the darkest tint that I can get that will allow me to still use the rear sunshade and not be completely blind. I live in NJ so also considering getting all 4 windows done in a moderate tint that will still pass inspection here.

Also are there any issues with tint and the rear defogger/integrated antenna?

Every state has its own laws. Here in RI 35% is still NOT legal I have 20% and its dark .The rear sunshade is perforated so u can still see fine.35% to me wont do the job of blocking the sun enough.20% is good.

I don't have any issues with either the rear defogger or the antenna with window tint applied.

The darkness of the tint, to me, is a personal preference (and your local laws).

I have 20% alll around, but the angle of the back glass lets alot of light pass, so considering slapping on another layer of 20 on the rear window only. 20% on the sides has always been what I prefer on the sides and still see fine at night. I don't believe 20% is legal in any state on the sides of the car, but most police around here don't have meters and use your license as a test to see if they can read through the tint; not the most scientific or legal way. With the high angle on the front and rear glass and without the sunroof cover closed, these cars let alot of light into the car making the tint look lighter in the daytime than what it really is. I also use about 6-10" of 5% on the front for an eyebrow; depends on the car how far I go down; usually far enough to make the sunvisors a mute point.(legal in AR is no more than 6" in the middle/not to exceed the rearview mirror mount) Mine is about 4-5" below the mirror :-). Whatever you do I would stick with the same darkness on the sides for consistancy sake, and go darker on the back and front strip.
