The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly which is located in the gas tank.
It is accessed by removing the reat horizontal seat and you'll see a access port.
I can send a pdf file with the details if it will help.
Do you have a problem with the fuel feed?

The only one I'm aware of is that in tank one. Usually there's an inline filter as well on most of the cars I've dealt with, but Ive never seen one for the avalon. Only part #' that come up are for the in tank filter attached to the pump.

hi XXagon &boosted-fc3s thank you for the reply
well i am having a big problem with my car
while i`m driving if i push the pedal to accelerate the engine will stall and wont go after a few second it will be fine
i just changed the coil 123456 and the spark plugs
and i have the same problem the check engine light wont go off and i have the code PO355 PO170-171-174
so i`m thinking the fuel pump or the filter might do so ill start from cheap to expansive
first change the fuel filter and if that does not help the only thing is to take it to the dealer i guess

171 174 indicate lean conditions. Theres a fairly extensive list of crap to check regarding those codes.

Fuel injectors, MAF Sensor, vacuum leaks, PCV valves, oxygen sensors, air intake path, etc..

Try this. It's cheap and takes a few minutes:

VCS and Check Engine Indicators

Thats my guess, lean on both banks probably means air intake issues. Clean that sensor and Im almost willing to bet your prob goes away.

It's good that you were able to fix the MAF sensor problem.
I'm interested in how you selected the sensor, you indicated that you had removed and cleaned it but still had the errors. What finally nailed it for you.
Good job.

USA

i did clean it and everything and if u saw it from the inside it was like brand new but i guess a wire must have had a problem i don`t know how
my friends cousin has a Dealer Computer Scanner and when we did the diagnostics it was showing the P0171 P0174 and P0356 codes from his experience he said is the MAF and coil 6 so we changed the MAF
we reseted the CEL drove for like 2 miles and then the CEL came on we scanned it and it was the P0356 code ONLY no MAF i when to Toyota dealer near my house they had 1 hour free diagnostic and they told me it is the coil only since that was the only code showing
i bought the MAF $149.72 and the Coil for $97 replaced them on spot and no more problems so far i did over 1000miles and is running good
