Canada Vibration - intermittent

I have a 2006 Avalon XLS. Love the car generally but would like to know when my recall letter will come to get my gas pedal fixed.

But on to the Real Concern now.

This is an American 2006 XLS Avalon

My Avalon has developed an intermitent vibration while driving at assorted speeds from 40 t0 60 mph. It started about 6 to 9 mths ago and has been very occasional but has become more frequent of late. It just appears for no apparent reason and dissappears again. Your driving along normally and it just starts .....it feels like your driving over a short fairly mild washboard section of the road. It lasts about 2 or 3 seconds and is gone again. It's not while doing any particular thing ...not braking or turning or anything consistent. I have had people drive it to see what they think it is and of course it won't do it for the technician.

Does anyone haev any ideas that could help me???

Thanks in Advance for your help.

Puppa

I would have the tires checked for uneven wear. They could be "syncing up" for a bit then getting out of sync again. I have this problem with my stock tires just running them out before I put new ones on. It could be a balance issue also. Maybe you lost a couple wheel weights.

Some questions:
Can you feel the vibration in the steering wheel?
Are you driving on a slight upgrade at the time the vibration occurs?
Is the beginning of the vibration concident with a slight depression of the accelerator pedal (such as required to maintain speed on an upgrade)?

The vibration does not appear to be in the steering wheel....it appears to be in the front end of the car though.

The other 2 quirres could be correct but I am not sure.

It is seeming to be a bit more often now than when it originally started to happen.

Thanks for helping me with this.

What do you think it could be??

The other answers to my post seem to be unlikely.

Regards Rick

Have the tires checked for balance it is a very common thing to sometimes throw a weight it isn't unlikely at all. Simple thing to have checked and then you can move on down the troubleshooting list.

Your Correct.................I will do this and then hopefully have it fixed but at least be able to rule that out.

Thanks Rick
