BEST 3G Avalon???

What might be the BEST 3G model year meaning:

reliability
no recalls or "fixes"
durability
dependability
gas mileage
power:weight
multi speed transmission more than 4-speed.

Thank you and I apologize if I've overlooked any metrics.

2008 and 2009 models would be the best, but they were still called for the pedal recall and some 09's still had the rubber-hose problem for the Bank1 VVT-i oil-line.

The 3rd gen never has a 4 speed trans. 05-07 were 5 speed, and 08-on were 6 speed.

I don't know that there's enough difference between the '05 and the current model to say that one is 'best'. The only really significant difference is the switch to a 6-speed tranny on the '08 model and perhaps the move to a metal tube for the vvt-i oil line.

Once the car has had its recalls taken care of there are no inherent issues (and they have all been recalled). They are reliable, comfortable, all get about the same mileage and have the same engines and power/weight ratio.

A few good resources are to check out edmunds or consumers used auto guide online for the year to year changes. All the technical specifications are listed for all years, so you can easily choose the best year for you.

2008 also saw a refresh in the styling of the Avalon so it depends if it appeals to you or not.

hello 'inquiring,' having owned my 05 fully loaded avalon for 1 year now, amenities i'd like to have are the factory ipod connection, the 6-speed tranny, and the improved gps. i have installed an ipod from crutchfield, but it is limited. because i've had level of autos such as the 01 740il bimmer, the 02 infinity q45 and the 00 lexus sc400, i'm aware of luxuries available. but, at the same time, i do understand that there can be a price that also accompanies such a level of car. the 05 to 10 avalon, allows a respectable level of luxury while allowing very little maintenance. like i've mentioned, i get to enjoy hopping into my avalon, while not trying to remember what needs to be fixed now or soon, but also enjoy the interior looks and feels of luxury with no need to wonder about maintenance or efficiency.
i do note that cars mentioned are more desirable than my 05 avalon, but i no longer want to pay such cost.
