TRD Cold Air Intake

Does any one know if it's possible to install TRD Cold air intake at the Avalon?

I saw a video of an Avalon installed K&N Air intake:

I'm assuming you're talking about the 3.5L engine. If that's the case you should be able to use an air intake system from a Camry. I found this one http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...UJCA-3317.html for the Camry. It should work for you but you might have to make a few adjustments for the Avalon.

For what it's worth, I've done some before and after dyno testing with a variety of open-element air intake systems on a variety of cars and trucks. Unless you're doing other modifications (headers, exhaust, computer chip/reprogrammer, etc) the intake alone won't get you much performance improvement.

Hello Tom,
yes you are right, I'm talking about the 3.5L engine. Do you think this air intake will cancel the warranty on the engine? Because I saw two kind of TRD Cool Air intake, one is legal and does not effect the warranty on the car, and one is that for racing, not legal for road and take out the warranty from the car. www.trdusa.com
What I'm looking for is to install things that increase the power and does not make an engine noise unless you press on the pedal very strong.
Have u ever tuned Avalon?
Do you know any place or garage at ohio can do these stuff?
Any recommendation?

In general, the addition of an aftermarket part will not void the warranty unless the manufacturer of the warranteed part can prove that the aftermarket part was directly responsible for a failure. This is the whole concept behind the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. You can read all about this law at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/business/adv/bus01.shtm.

From the open-element intakes I've had experience with (on Mustangs and various pickups) they will increase noise levels to some degree. As quiet as the Avalon is I would think you'd hear the sucking in of air even with a light press of the gas pedal. I would be money that you'll hear the throttle roar when you step hard on it.

I have not tuned an Avalon. I'm happy just cruising along in mine the way it is. When I feel the need - I hop in my Mustang for ear-to-ear smiles.

Can't help you with a shop in Ohio - I'm in Washington State.
