USA Maintenance Light on at 46,000 miles

I have a 2006 Avalon Limted with laser cruise control. Had no problem with it since I had it with 30 miles on it. I noticed a Maintence Light Turns on at 46,000 miles. Does anyone know what that means?

It means that 5,000 miles have passed since its last oil change. It's time to change the oil again.

The Maintenance Light does not set itself, it has to be reset by someone.

Its very very easy to turn out the light.

Reset the system by the following procedure:

1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown. Not Trip A or B
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off. If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.

On our keyless start models, you can get to the "on" position by pressing the start button twice without the brake on.
