2006 Avi radio removal

I'm attempting to remove dash panels to get radio out so I can install USAspec ipod adapter. Up to know I removed a small wood trim to the left of the steering wheel and also the panel on top and behind the steering wheel. I pryed loose the panel that houses the air condition controls and the radio. Problem I have is the connector that goes to the air condition switches which has a very short wire harness and cant remove from socket. Is there any trick or lock that I need to know so I can release it without damage??

Thanks in advance for help and/or comments!

Update: Got the connectors out; all that was needed was a bit of patience. Also got the console out; quite easier than I thought. Will post some pictures after I finish installing my new Kenwood KOS-A300 Media Controller...
