2011 Avalon Limited USB reconnection problem

I have a 2011 Avalon Limited. My USB works properly when I plugged in the usb drive. All the files and folders appear correctly. However, once I turned the car off and then back on (with the usb still plug in) the usb is not recognized. I have to unplug the usb drive then push it back in for it to read the files and folders. Does anyone know why this is happening?

What kind of USB drive is it? In the computer word this happens if the drive isnt optimized for quick removal.

Canada Same issue with an iPhone 3G

Same reconnection issue here. Gotta unplug and replug the phone.

Interesting detail: the audio file APPEARS to be playing (e.g. track timer is running) but there is no audio output until reconnecting.

Issue resolved. I purchased another 2gb usb drive ($5.96) that was complety blank. I transferred my files from the computer and now, everything is working ok. The sandisk drive had system files (password protection, etc.) on it that couldn't be deleted. These extra files on the usb drive was causing the problem. Thanks.

USB play anything other than MP3

Does the USB drive play anything other than MP3 files, like ACC, etc ??

Thanks

by default, most USB drive comes with their own utilities on the flash drive itself. The best way to do this is put your USB in your computer and do a reformat to clean out everything. Then put your music there, hope it helps
