2011 Avalon Valet Key

I finally got around to reading the fine print in the owner manuals and it states I should have gotten a valet key in addition to the two smart key fobs. What does the valet key look like? I will post the answer to my email inquire to the dealer I sent a few mins ago. Some of the posts in this forum with the same issue were not very promising though (i.e., dealer claims valet key was provided).

My 2005 Limited has a mechanical key included in the Smart Key fob. There's a release on the side of the fob, and the mechanical key pulls with the key ring on the end.

Might that be what you're looking for?

Not exactly. Here's a quote from the official Warranty and Maintenance Guide:
"Upon purchase, each vehicle should have two master keys, one valet key and an aluminum tag with a key code imprinted on it." That sounds like a 3rd key to me but I did not get one. I am looking for verification one way or the other.

I think the valet key isn't included on cars that have the smartkey. The valet key mentioned in the owners manual only works in the doors and the ignition (which smartkey cars don't have) and not the trunk.

I might be wrong about this but that's how I see it.

the Smartkey Valet is to give the valet the fob, you keep the removable key that is part of the fob. You use that key to lock the glove box after pressing the button in the glove box that disables opening the trunk with the fob or dash button. That way the valet can get in the car and start it but cannot get into the glovebox or trunk. Of course, after you remove the mechanical key from the fob then the valet doesn't have anything to attach his little tag too which frustrates them.

The manuals are written to cover all trim levels (with or without SmartKey). The Smart Key valet key is as described above.

Thanks. Found that in another manual. Toyota needs to update their owners manuals or at least indicate that the statment does not apply to all lines.
