3rd Generation Dressing up the Avalon

Hi; Im planning on dressing up and rejuvenating my silver 2006 Avi. Just give it a sportier look and get rid of the "old man's car" stigma it has. I'm changing the grille to a mesh style from E&G(thanks 00avxis for a great deal on the grille).

For the wheels I'm planning on some MODA MD6 17 x 8 45mm offset with Kumho Ecsta AST 245-45-17 tires. These tires are about 1/2 inch shorter than stock which wont make much of a difference. Here are some pics of the grille and wheel. Your opinion and comments are appreciated.

The grille looks much better in person and with the toyota emblem. Will post picture when I install. Thanks for your comment.

I really like the wheels and will wait to see the grill installed. I am not feeling it on the picture you posted.

I agree with you guys, the pic is not very inspiring. I'll probably paint the mesh black to give the car a bit of contrast.

Look in my signature for my link. Ive done just about every DRESS UP part out there...I also think a more fuller wheel or more bars with deep dish gives these cars the best look..a wheel that shows trough to much looks to small for these cars.IMO

Well guys and gals I ordered the MD6 wheels from the first post with 245/45/17 Kumho Ecsta AST tires. Also sent the grille to powdercoating; semigloss black. As soon as I get all the stuff on the car I'll post some pictures...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!

Shit i live in RI and we have the worst roads.I have 19s on rigt now and i have a 225 45 19 tires and have no issue with pot holes whats so ever..20s wit the 225 35 tires was another story i had to scan the road none stop I would hardly let my girl take the AvaDon cause you know women and pot holes.

I just think that a 17 is to small for these cars, don't get me wrong the rims are sweet, size is just a personal preference.

3rd Generation

Well,,,the powdercoat guy finally returned the finished grille. Semigloss black. I assembled and put emblems on. I really like it now. Before it was very plain and didnt say much.

Also received today MODA MD6 tire/wheel combo from the Rack at my fathers house,,,so next weekend I'll go over and install them plus the grille. Will post some pictures as soon as posible.

Here's a pic of the grille....

Now THAT is an aftermarket grill for the Avalon that I like!

...and idea - perhaps cut out inside of the Toyota emblem (the black part) out so the mesh shows through?...
