Exclamation 2010 Avalon Question

I was told by the service writer in the service department at a Toyota dealership that "when you turn on the Bright Lights ("Brights") in the front of the car, they are supposed to turn off the normal lights. In other words, all four lights do not work at the same time. The headlights and the bright lights only work two at a time.

I checked my Camry and all four lights come on when I turn on my brights.

Can anyone that has a 2010 Avalon confirm or deny that? I't doesn't make sense to me..

Thank you,

Hogwash. Old cars used to do that, but not the Avalon. All lights stay on with brights. Only the fogs shut off.

Actually, some cars do only have two bulbs lit at the same time. My '01 F-150 was like that. However, if you pulled back on the turn signal switch for the 'flash to pass' all four would light up as long as you held it back.

I'm not sure about the Avalon - it's not with me right now so I can't check.
