Headlights-What Kind do I have?

OK, I know it is probably elementary but I need to know how I can tell if I have HID headlights or the regular Halogen lamps? I'm talking low beams here. Please excuse my ignorance. This is the first car I've owned where there was an option for HID lamps.
Thx - JMcDuff

HIDs have a slight blue/ clear white tint to them. What trim do you have?

Do your headlights height adjust themselves every time you turn on the car? Only the HID do.

Also, HID was standard/only available on the Touring and Limited. If you have an XL or XLS you have standard halogens.

Hi, jmcduff
Did you remove the battery to replace drive side bulbs? if not how did you access the low beam bulb? thank you.

just to make sure after reconnect the battery, do the windows and sunroof reset. follow the link above or check your user manual, it shows how to perform that task.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, I took the battery out and was able to reach everything after that. It really is a tight fit and more trouble than my older cars but I was able in the end to get it done.

PS: I didn't have to do the Windows/Sunroof reset for some reason.

Lucky you. I think last time I had to reset those because I had the battery drained out. It's possible that if you only disconnet for short period of time, you don't have to do that.
