Repair Leather Seat

I found a small cut in the leather (1/4") on the side of the drivers seat. I would like to repair it so that it doesn't get any larger. Has anyone had any experience with some kind of repair kit that would handle this problem?

I tried one on my previous vehicle. It was worthless. It came from a parts store.

An upholstery shop can put a couple of stitches in it to prevent it from getting larger. Or, with a curved needle and nylon filament, you could give it a try yourself.

On most cars,
only the seating surfaces are leather. The seat sides are usually vinyl.
I used a vinyl repair kit once- no good.
Then again I had a small cut in the seat side where the vinyl was rubbing on a piece of plastic trim for the seatback adjuster, and, it never got any worse.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll enlist my wife. She can do very fine sewing.
