2005 Avalon Display Shows "F and radio stopped

Hi -my wonderful 2005 Avalon suddenly developed a display malfunction. After several remote start attempts, when started, I opened the door, restarted it, and the display (no navigation system) wouldn't display radio (radio woudln't turn on either), wouldn't display a/c, temp, mpg, etc., though the auto temp, fan, hearter, etc. all work. I had accidently hit the alarm button when attempting to shut it off as well.

Could I have shorted out the display? Does the radio lock when the alarm is set off and the car is running? I am hoping that the radio is simply calling for a dealer security code reset (which request we can't see because the display isn't working.

Someone also mentioned that the "F" means there is an air temp sensor connection problem - could that cause the entire display to go off, and the radio is simply coincidental? anyone else had these issues?

I should add that this happened after the dealer 'detailed' the car, power wash, etc., and I picked up my new 2011 Avalon.

Help fellow Avalon owners!!!

Try disconnecting the battery and let evrything reset itself. Also, if they did get a connection or something wet, it may help to leave the windows down on the car in a warm garage to dry things out.

If that doesn't work, try checking the radio fuse. It could have blown.

Why waste time and risk further damage. Take the car back to the dealer. This can get very expensive.

I agree...it appears obvious that something happened at the dealer and they should deal with it, not you.
