I'm trying to get a 2011 Avalon Base Model White with Black Leather Interior and being told that there are none available in my area (San Diego,CA) and that I can't order one.
What are your feeling on this.
Thans in advance

Try another dealer, maybe out of your area. Some regions can't get certain packages or options EASILY; however, it doesn't appear that the interior color is regional only. Try calling a dealer in AZ. I know several people from SoCal who have purchased cars from Tims in Prescott. They have an awesome fleet manager named Raz who I know would at least give you the honest scoop. Tell him Robert from Flagstaff told you to call and see if it's possible to order one from him. AZ is in the Denver region, so that might help.
Try building the car you want online on the Toyota website. Then request quotes from dealers from neighboring cities (and increase the distance) until you get the response you're looking for.

Good luck!
That's also what I'd do. You can also go to truecar.com to build the car you want and it'll give you the invoice price, true dealer cost, and what customers are paying for it.

I did that and now the Dealership is telling me that will have to go ouside of Region to see if they can get a other dealer alotment for the one I want
Just as an FYI, if they go out of the region to get it, and dealer trade for it, unless you ask them to trailer it, they will drive it back. So it could potentially have like 500 miles on it when you get it.

I don't know why I just can't order it from the Factory thru the dealership like my friend did with his 2011 Camaro

Some dealerships will let you do this with their next allocation. Depending on the timing of the allocation (the next group of cars they get on the lot from the factory), the timing could be anywhere from 1-3 months to get one in.
Our dealership will "order out" vehicles for anyone who asks.

The salesman comes back to work today and is going check with his inventory man and see if they can locate one out of region?

They found one and should be in San Diego by 18 of this month.
I drove a 2011 Acura TL yesterday, but was not impressed.
Was not as comfortable as the Avalon.

Nice. Glad you found what you wanted and the dealership stepped up to find it! I spoke with my friend briefly at the Prescott dealership and he didn't understand why you couldn't get one in SoCal.
