Customizing the Avalon

i just lowered my Avalon 1.6 inches with the only company i could find that made lowering springs for this vehicle. "Vogtland" i was suprised that i even found a company that made lowering springs for it cuz Tanabe, Eibach, and tein..etc dont make any for this car, but im not too satisfied with the drop..It looks nice but i want to slam this thing..Oh yeah i forgot to mention that there are no coilovers made for this car at all so i resorted to the springs. but when i got the springs in the mail the box said for Avalon/Camry, if thats the case i could possibley fit some 2 inch drop springs for a camry on my Avalon. If anyone can answer me on that i would appreciate it, and if its possible to fit a set of camry springs i will just buy the 2inch drop springs for the camry.

You're right according to this site the same part number of Vogtland springs will fit the 2005-2011 Avalon and 2005-2011 Camry.

There is at least one guy that owns an Avalon in cardomain that claims he used Camry srpings to lower his 05+ Avalon. Look it up! If you have already done this please post some pics and share your experience.

I would have to think that the Avalon shares parts from other Toyotas. There is no way that the suspension is unique to the Avalon. If I had to guess what other Toyotas the Avalon shares suspension parts with I would say:

1) 2006+ Camry XV40 (V6)
2) 2006+ ES350 XV40

Put this way these two cars are built on the same chassis, and share a huge amount of parts, look at the three engine bays and you will see how similar they are.

2006+ Avalon

2006+ Camry

2006+ ES350

So this being the case I would say that there is a good chance that the Avalon, Camry, and ES350 share suspensions. Over on the Camry boards a member was asking about camry sway bars, and another member points out that the Camry and ES share the same MEGAN part number Coil-overs. Go to post #8 I'm sure what changes between the three are spring rates, and the valving changes also, but I'm sure that the body of the shocks are the same, and if so the mounting points should be the same also.
