New XMp3i Radio for 2006 Limited

My kids gave me a XMp3i radio with the vehicle kit for Christmas. My vehicle is a 2006 Limited with Navigation system. I have noticed on the radio it is marked AM/Sat and hope that this will make the install a plug and play. Anyone out there have any advice on how to install this system - please.

Is there an easy connect on the radio?

Oilman,

Not sure exactly; however, usually the in-dash units are 'sat ready' which means you have to find and plug in a sat module (not an aftermarket Sat radio) for your particular system. The ones I've done in the past (for an FJC, not Avy), involved pulling the head unit, installing the module, connecting the antenna, then re-installing the head unit. That allowed the 'Sat' button on the unit to function.

Aftermarket Sat add-on radios usually install quite differently....some using a direct connect to the Aux on the unit (many head units have one to the rear of the unit to allow for cleaner install), others sending an FM signal.

HTH.
