Maintenace Reqd light comes ON

Has it ever happened to your car where the maint reqd light went ON and then after a minute or so it will turn OFF ….i had an issue today morning I saw the light before going to drop my son to preschool and then when I started again from school to work it went ON and then OFF and when I reached at work I saw my front passenger tire was almost soft as if it was losing air so I called the road side assistance and he replaced with my full spare tire and when I start my car again it still shows maint reqd for a while and turns off …I did change oil a month back …. Not sure why this is happening ... i have not done my 45K service yet , any suggestions ....

They didnt reset your maintenance reminder. It lights up briefly as you are approaching the 5k oil change mark. It lights up solid after it registers 5k. Its a reminder that your service interval is approaching.

Reset it by doing this:

While the car is in "on" or running put the trip meter / odometer on ODO, not a trip or b trip.

Turn car off. Press and hold the trip reset button. Turn the car to on, you will see a countdown type thing flash in the odomter. When its done your light wont come on at start up.
