USA 07 avy touring fog lamps

Hi!
ive been thinking to replace the stock fog lamps on my 07 avy touring with an aftermarket brighter lamps.

since the stock lamps are dull and dont have much of an impact is there any viable option out there for a brighter output with not much adverse affect on the battery.

will installing a piaa halogen driving lamps or hella burn out the sockets (or are they rated to handle brighter lights)?

all suggestions welcome!

I installed a pair of MTEC Super White H11 on my 08 touring to match the factory HID. Much better than before. It have been over a year now and it is still running strong. Plus they are 50% cost of the PIAA.

I have the same bulbs on my wife's Honda 08 CRV fog and they are still running for over two years now. For the headlight, I went with the PIAA xtreme white plus. I didn't want to bother with the HID kit since it doesn't have the factory auto leveling system.

As long as you stick with 55w, it will not burn the socket. Never had any problem with the Avalon and CRV. I think the 07 uses 9006 fog.

My 2 cents. Personally hid's fog lights look awful, HID's are meant to have a clean and crisp cut off projection. Not a blast of light blinding you when one's coming towards you. Sorry I am a hater of aftermarked hid's. Original lexus used yellow fogs, I loved that look so I also went that route.

HIDs are meant for special housings or projectors, not regular headlights or even FOG lights. I had hids in 99, they were so blue it made me sick. On top of that its illegal.
There are other options for better light output.

If you use HID in a halogen housing, do everyone else a favor and aim them down a bit.

The correct rebased HID bulbs that fit your stock low beam housing will have a black cap at the tip to reduce glare.

I guess depends on what you want from the fog light, if you want the look, seems like most will say HID but it probably not very street friendly with other drivers.

I know there are some LED fog lights out there, again, I guess it probably just for the look then actual lighting.

I put a set of MTEC SuperWhite H11 in my 08 Touring fog light. Matched my factory HID perfecty. Over one year and still running strong. Pretty cheap compared to PIAA.
I think the 2007 model uses 9006.
