2011 Windshield wiper shudder.

I bought a brand new 2011 Avalon Limited. I love the car. It's the best ride I ever had.

I do have one problem that is extremely annoying. The Windshield Wiper blades shudder loudly. It incredible annoying...especially for a brand new car. Obviously I'll be calling the dealer.......however......I was wondering.....

Has anyone else had this experience with a 2011 Avalon? If so....what was done to fix the problem? Plus.....why is this happening?

Many thanks,
Tom K.

Yes. I read that thread before I posted. My car is brand new. A 2011. That Avalon was a couple of years old. Plus.....I shouldn't have to go to elaborate lengths so a brand new Avalon's wipers don't shutter.

Tom K,

We have a 2011 Ltd and had a similar issue. We let the dealer know about it and they replaced the wipers with what the Svc Mgr said was the 'Japanese' part number, not the US ones. He said something about the US ones not being as good...and that they had a similar problem with the FJ Cruiser....again, the fix being the 'Japanese' blades versus the US ones..

In our case, it fixed the issue. I've read of others (other forums, too) where greater lengths had to be gone to to resolve the issue (like replacing the entire wiper arm...).

I hope yours is as simple a fix as mine was.
