I've got the factory equipped JBL Synthesis system and I'm very happy with it exactly the way it is. Nothing like 7.1 surround sound at high volume to put a smile on my face. Even after a couple hours I don't suffer ear-fatigue.

Sounds like you're headed in a different direction though...

well my previous car (95 avalon) i had sony xplod 2way in the doors and 1 12' woofer in the trunk( sounded great). So i can now hear the difference from the 2 and the new avy only has the 9 speaker setup (non jbl) so, i need a little thump if yah no what i mean. What if i was to get the jbl deck, i know the 3 rear speakers are amp but what about the rest? just trying to figure out as many options as possible before i go out and spend some $$$.

From what I have read so far, most stock speakers from Toyota are ok. If you have stock radio and just change the speaker, you really won't have a BIG different on sound quality.
If mid range is your concern, you may try to replace the door speaker with 2/3 way (I know some that you can aim/move the tweeter to point up, it may help)

Maybe you could clone the JBL version by adding a woofer in the factory location (power it as you like) and see what that brings you and go from there.

Ok sounds like a plan then. Did you just put the 12 in your trunk?

Yep...Sat It In The Trunk....Bolted Amp To The Back Of The Seat....But Sometimes I Turn The Box Around So The Sub Is Pointed Inside The Cabin....Then I Have It Showing From The Inside Once You Pull That Arm Rest Down In The Backseat And Unlock The Compartment...So Either Or.....Just Depending On How Im Feeling....Also I Used A Line Output Converter To Tap Into The Factory Sub

okay cool. yeah i had the sub facing up into the cab actually so it really sound better. i never got the full effect facing it into the rear seat or the trunk. if you get a chance, try that it sounds better.
