aftermarket brakes

Considering blowing money on performance brakes. For a better look since my wheels expose calipers so much and I'm told I might get longer life w/ an upgrade. Not finding much. Help.

Upgrade as in what?.Calipers,Roters,Pads?

I was looking into aZinc coated drilled/slotted roter upgrade,Im gonna be painting my calipers black soon then ill get the roters over the summer sometime. That would be good enough for me.

There's always a trade off - you typically will not get longer lasting "brakes" unless you go with harder friction compounds (rotors / pads) which results in more squeal. OEM brakes are pretty decent for first order stopping, it's the brake fade that typically aftermarket or "performance" brake systems attempt to combat. Additionally you can consider two-piece floating rotors tend to improve braking stability.

I replaced all rotors on my '05 with cross-drilled/slotted. Upgraded to Akebono HP pads. Replaced front pads after about 35000 on the front with Toyota TRDs, little more dust, but noticed better braking performance. Highly recommend you flush your brake fluid every 24-30K. I didn't and one rear caliper locked up, roasted a set of EBC pads. Flushed caliper and found water contamination.

I've always had good experience with EBC Pads. The green stuff have a good bite but produce a lot to dust, on me last car (2004 GS300) I started with EBC Greens, then switched them for EBS Red Stuff, I REALLY liked the EBC Red Stuff pads, very strong brake and little to stock amount of dust!

I'll be doing to brakes on my 06 touring soon, I have a set of stainless steel brake lines and will be going with EBC Red Stuff front and back.
