Headlight Mod Idea?

So I'm now the proud owner of a 2005 Avalon XLS and a lot of debt lol. I sucked it up and decided that, after 230k miles and lots of joyful motoring, it was time to trade my beloved 96 Camry Coupé in. Love my new car!! (Except for the ubiquitous little paint chips on the nose of course!) I plan on tinting the windows, getting the chrome rocker accents and pillar covers and all that shtick to jazz it up, but something gave me pause to consider and put to popular vote.

I found this on a Taurus forum when I was trying to fix one, and had to pause for a moment. Something like this might look really nice on the Av, particularly if I did it in the Indigo Ink Metallic color of the rest of the car, or even just semi-gloss black.

I have the regular halogen headlights btw, and was considering an LED strip inside the headlight enclosure while I'm in there.

Too ricey or a nice, classy touch? What do you think?

I think someone on this forum did a LED strip on the headlight, you may need to do a search to see how it look.

As for the blackout paint, you may want to do a photoshop or just some photo editing to see how it looks on your Blue Avalon. If you like the look, go for it. I wonder if blackout will affect the actual light output.

Well I know that on the Taurus, the reflector that projects the light forward wasn't painted, so the light output wasn't affected. I was thinkin the same thing about the black too... perhaps do it body-colored; the Honda Fit has something like that and it looks really cool. Give a touch of boy-racer attitude to my VIP cruiser.

I would do a couple of shades of glossy black.

I never liked all the chrome stuff people slap on cars. It looks very cheap and out of place.
