iPod is not showing up …

when I plug it into my 2011 Avalon Limited on the Nav screen? Well I guess it shows up, in a sense. I can tell it's plugged in, but it doesn't show up on the Nav screen like it does on the videos on Toyota.com or youtube.

When I go to toyota.com go try and get answers, hell, the screen shots don't help, as that's what I don't get, when I plug mine in.

The iPod is the newest iPod Touch, and the Avalon is 47 miles old.

I can only use the forward button on the steering wheel and I don;t see anything, but it will jump ahead a song.

Some iPods have issues working properly with some HU's. My 1st gen iTouch works perfect with my cars but my 3rd gen iTouch has issues with a couple of my cars HU's. Try a different iPod from a friend or if you have more than one in the home. Between all 5 of us in my house I bet we have 10+ iPods!

IMO, get a simpler, more reliable iPod. For example, my 3rd gen iPod nano is excellent for use in the car. why? Because there's no touch screen, so all I gotta do is click the next button instead of looking down at the screen which is dangerous. Plus I know many people who have had issues with iPod touches, and many people will say Nanos and even the Classics have fewer problems. But that's just my opinion bout iPods.

Anyways, restore the iPod, and update the firmware and in most cases that should solve the issue.

Well I've figured it out. All I had to do, was make sure the USB plug was pushed in all the way - hit the right key (USB ) on the display and everything works fine now, (with the iPod).

I must admit, IF there isn't a quicker way of scrolling, then as nice as it is to see stuff, I'll likely pass and use the standard cable, so I can at least see the screen on the iPod, and I'll be able to scroll through the songs and such.

I got the Bluetooth up and running, this is cool. I'm just wondering if the poor quality is because I have Sprint, or is it the phone, or both?

I still haven't been in the car more then 20 - 30 minutes at a time yet, but it is a LOT quieter and smoother then my 2008 Touring Edition. Which by the way, I think should have been sold as a sporty version.

In any case, I'm happy (for now), and it's back to work.

Oh, if anyone is interested in one of these, let me know. They are reasonably priced and a great kit to have in your car.

put them in the for sale section instead of advertising them here...since this was a thread about your iPod, and not detailing a car.
